Meeching Amateur Dramatics is 11 years old and meets most Tuesdays and Thursday evenings. As a community-based group, one of MAD’s principle aims is to stimulate an interest in amateur dramatics and to try to provide its members the opportunity to be involved in any aspect of the theatre that interests them for example mime or puppetry, nothing would be dismissed as too diverse providing commitment and hard work can be shown by those participating.

We aim to stage two to three productions a year which provides those interested the opportunity to act, or if preferred try their hand at the numerous other jobs which are needed to put on a production. There is always help and guidance available from ‘older hands’ in the group for those who may be new to amateur dramatics. It goes without saying that there is a great deal of work in putting on a production, and we are always interested to hear from people who want to get involved. It doesn’t matter whether you want to act, dance, sing, direct, build set, paint or just make the tea!

Joining is simple, just call Tony 01323 896813 or email tonywgibbs@btinternet.com

MAD Hatters Tea Party

A Mad Hatters Tea party was a huge success raising £1021. EDF Energy has agreed to match that giving £2042 to the MS Society. Carla Butler says “Thank you to all those that supported, donated and worked so hard on the day especially the acting crew who brought Alice and Wonderland to life. The MS Society does some great work helping people with multiple sclerosis and the money raised will continue to help improve the quality of life of those affected. "
